Alistair McGowan

We are excited to announce that after the success of the main festival in May, we’re popping back in November.

Pop-Up Piano 8th & 9th November 2024

The varied and exciting weekend of events has been put together by festival Chair, Alistair McGowan, who says…

As ever, we hope there will be something for everyone during our brief ‘Pop-Up’ event in November.

Put the dates in your diary and get booking! All events threaten to sell out quickly.

Friday 8th November

‘Now That’s What I Call Piano!’

In a first for Ludlow Piano Festival, Joe Thompson, an old University chum of Alistair’s, will play music by The Beatles, Queen, Billy Joel, Alanis Morissette, The Boomtown Rats, Bruno Mars, Oasis, Sting and many, more while telling us some of those showbiz stories in between.

Saturday 9th November

Jeneba Kanneh-Mason in Concert

We are thrilled that one of the rising stars of the piano world has agreed to put Ludlow on her current list of UK and worldwide dates. Jeneba Kanneh-Mason will light up St Laurence’s with a recital featuring works by Chopin, Scriabin, Scarlatti and Prokofiev. Don’t miss her!

Friday 8th & Saturday 9th November

Open Piano

And both mornings see the return of the hugely-popular ‘Open Piano’. An unmissable chance for you to play the fabulous concert Steinway at St Laurence’s with no real pressure. Play to whoever happens to be passing by. Lose yourself in the beauty of the resonance of THAT piano in this inspirational church.

This festival promises to be a must-see event for music-lovers in the area and well beyond.

Ludlow has numerous restaurants and cafes and boasts a variety of places offering accommodation in the cosy town.
