Norwegian composer, Edvard Grieg, was allegedly only 4 feet 11 inches tall. And his wife, it is said, was even smaller.
The local story goes that when the two of them went out walking around his home near Bergen, they would often hear the whispered comment: ‘Here come the trolls!’
Understandably annoyed by this, Grieg took his revenge by writing a piece of music (part of his Lyric Suite), which he called ‘The March of the Trolls’. Here’s a fun version for piano and organ:
