Thank you Alistair for organising these events. We particularly enjoyed your playing in the show about Satie, this was excellent.
2nd year at the festival and managed to catch 8 events this time. Such a creative program, beautiful venues, superb players and excellent organisation. It's now a fixture in my calendar.
Joanna McGregor is an amazing pianist - and excellent at passing on tips to young and old. Brilliant morning
Once again the LPF delivered on its promises. The celebrity concert was entertaining and joyful, Sheila Hancock was just lovely and we could have stayed all day to listen to her stories. Finally the Jazz in the Afternoon, the music of Cole Porter was a great finale to our 5 days of great piano playing.
What a wonderful occasion the Ludlow Piano Festival is. We were lucky enough to attend several of the concerts this year and were impressed by the wide variety of musical styles and the calibre of the pianists. The LPF is now deservedly gathering return visitors from much further afield, so make sure to put next year’s in your diary, as well as the ‘Pop-Up’ in the autumn. Heartfelt thanks too to everyone involved in getting this off the ground.
What a great show - Tyler Hay was amazing, do book him again! And we loved the composer of the music for Wolf Hall with Anton Lesser reading from the script. Wonderful.
I went to see a favourite film, Buster Keaton's The General (1926). As always, this was delightful, breath-taking and funny. But the music accompanying the film more than matched its genius. Not only did we have such exciting piano, but also drums and flute.Astonishingly versatile. Thank you so much, to everyone involved ❤
The two accompanists to Buster Keaton’s “The General” silent black and white movie were outstanding. They improvised non-stop throughout this lengthy film, which was created near the end of the ‘silent’ era. I attended last year’s ‘silent’ offerings too, so I do hope this tradition will continue. Marvellous!
An absolutely mesmerising performance. I thought I might be disappointed without an orchestra but was blown away!
What a wonderful way to bring the world to Ludlow. Such variety and talent for all music lovers of all ages. Thank you Alistar and Steve and all the artists and volunteers.
